Carroll Technology Council Announces winner of Adelman Memorial Scholarship
The Carroll Technology Council (CTC) has announced the first-ever recipient of the Scott M. Adelman Memorial Scholarship awarded to Emma Taggart, senior at Francis Scott Key High School.
“We are very excited to announce the 1st awardee of the Scott M. Adelman Memorial Scholarship to Miss Taggart. Her excellent grade point average, college test scores, passion for pursuing a career in technology and essay response combined to have her stand out above all the excellent candidates for this award. We look forward to watching Emma’s progress as she works toward her career goals”, stated Gary Ditto, Scholarship Committee and CTC Board of Directors.
“Miss Taggart’s outstanding high school achievements including the Career and Technology Center CISCO Entry Network Technician certification and selection for the CCPS Tech Services internship is a great testament to her skills and drive to succeed in a competitive Information Technology career. The Carroll Technology Council is pleased to award her the very first Scott M. Adelman Memorial Scholarship which we hope will help her as she pursues higher education” stated Denise Beaver, CTC Secretary and Board of Directors.
The Scott M. Adelman Memorial Scholarship Fund was established by the CTC as a fund of the Community Foundation of Carroll County, with the purpose provide a scholarship to a student pursuing an undergraduate degree in marketing, business, computer science, information technology, cybersecurity or other technology related field in honor the life of Scott M. Adelman. Mr. Adelman was a founding member, former board member and committee chair of the Carroll Technology Council who passed away suddenly at the age of 53 in October 2016.
Congratulations to Ms. Taggart as we wish her the best of luck in her future endeavors as she continues her studies at SUNY at Alfred College of Technology, where she will major in Information Systems and Network Administration.
