Westminster, MD – August 26, 2014 – Due to the tremendous growth of the Recycling Computers for Charity drives over the past three years, the program has outgrown NoWorriesIT’s office space, requiring NoWorriesIT to consider closing down the bi-annual event.

Fortunately, NoWorriesIT has partnered with CHANGE, Inc., a local non-profit which provides vocational and support services for people with developmental disabilities. CHANGE, Inc. will not only help to collect and store the donated computers, but the CHANGE, Inc. clients will also be participating in processing the computers as well.

Most of the elements of the Recycling Computers for Charity program will remain exactly the same, including the commitment to keeping unusable computers out of the landfills, to educating people about data security, and to giving back to local non-profits. And now the mission expands to creating skill-building opportunities for the clients at CHANGE, Inc.

“We are excited to be able to extend the Recycling Computers for Charity program,” said Don McCombie, President of NoWorriesIT, “and look forward to finding ways to integrate the program for the clients and staff at CHANGE, Inc.”

The fall 2014 NoWorriesIT Recycling Computers for Charity Drive in partnership with CHANGE, Inc. will run from September 15 through October 31, 2014. Electronic items sought include desktops, laptops, and cables (No monitors, keyboards or mice, please.) Hard drives are removed from computers, sanitized and/or destroyed, free of charge. All equipment is transported to a local recycling center for cash rebate. NoWorriesIT matches the cash rebate and donates the total amount to the fall 2014 charity: Neighbors In Need Year Round, a program of Human Services Programs of Carroll County.
