TechKids and TechWorks
The Carroll Technology & Innovation Council’s TechKIDS/ TechWORKS programs are our philanthropic outreach that our member businesses support. We have partnered with Carroll County Public Schools, Carroll County Business Employment Resource Center, and other community organizations to help bridge the digital divide in Carroll County.
Through these programs, CTIC has provided computers to families and non-profits that cannot afford to provide their children or organizations with a computer! Since 2004, the Carroll Technology & Innovation Council has provided over 3,000 computers to the community free of charge through our TechKids/TechWorks.
In recent years, the CTIC has received grant funding from the Kahlert Foundation which is designated to provide NEW laptop computers to Carroll County students as well as funding for us to create, provide and support STEM programming.
What people are saying about our program:
“Closing the digital divide and providing all students with equal access is something I have been passionate about for many years. Unfortunately, it took the current COVID-19 situation to shine a very bright light on this continuing issue in our society. We are lucky in Carroll County to have the CTIC and the TechKids program. CCPS and CTIC have had a productive 16-year partnership and have placed thousands of computers in the hands of our deserving students. I am extremely gratified, as a CCPS employee and CTIC member, of what has been accomplished over the years. This latest initiative is just another example of the generosity and importance of this organization in our community. Kati Townsley and the members deserve our deep appreciation.”
