A Special Message from the Board of Directors

Dear CTIC Members and Friends,

It is with both sadness and deep gratitude that we share that Kati Townsley will be stepping down as the CTIC Executive Director at the end of 2021 to pursue the next step in her career. Kati has accepted a position as the Development and Community Engagement Manager for Carroll County Public Libraries. In her new role, she will lead as library advocate, drive donor development, and serve as a CCPL representative at the local, state, and national levels. This is a wonderful opportunity, a great fit, and an exciting next chapter for Kati!

Kati joined the CTIC as Director nearly nine years ago – a position well-suited for her special talents, energy, and enthusiasm. Since then, she has helped usher in a new era for the CTIC, building strategic partnerships with other community organizations, driving new programming and activities with a spirit of fun and camaraderie, seeking out and securing critical funding relationships, growing membership through tireless networking and promotion, organizing memorable community fundraisers and events, and helping improve and stabilize operations among many other accomplishments.

She will be dearly missed by the CTIC and all who know and love her, and we sincerely thank Kati for her contribution and leadership in her time here. She will move into her new position with CCPL at the end of the month but has agreed to support during the transition to new leadership. Denise Rickell will remain in the Executive Assistant position and further support the transition over the next few months. We are grateful to them both for their dedication and ongoing support of the CTIC and all those we serve in the Carroll community.

Kati leaves the CTIC in a strong position for continued success in our mission to Move Carroll Forward. There will be no replacing her spirit, her energy, and her radiant smile, but this is also an opportune time for the CTIC to focus on agility and value. Member and community values are the cornerstone of the CTIC’s long history. Together, our community has prevailed through more change over the last two years than many of us have seen in our lifetimes. The CTIC pledges to continue to provide critical support to our members and our community through whatever this next year brings. In fact, it is with enthusiasm that we consider this next phase and the opportunity for the CTIC to continue to strengthen the support we provide to our valued members and cherished Carroll County community.
