Eligibility
Carroll County, MD resident
- whose total income is at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level, and/or
- has a household member who receives assistance, such as
- SNAP, Medicaid, Federal Public Housing Assistance, SSI, WIC, Veterans Pension and Survivors Benefit or Lifeline
- Tribal-specific programs, such as Tribal TANF
- Free and reduced-price school meal program or a CEP school
- Federal Pell Grant
- Broadband provider’s existing low-income program

The person registering for the Chromebook must be a Carroll County resident. Only 1 computer per eligible household / per address. You do not need to be a U.S. citizen or currently have housing. You will not receive a Chromebook if you do not have proof of your eligibility. Learn more about acceptable documents below.
Qualifying by Assistance
Providing a physical or electronic copy of one of the documents below will serve as proof of assistance-based eligibility.
- Income is 200% or less than the Federal Poverty Guidelines
- The prior year’s state, federal, or Tribal tax return
- Current income statement from an employer or paycheck stub
- Social Security statement of benefits
- Unemployment or Workers’ Compensation statement of benefits
- Divorce decree, child support award, or other official document containing income information
- Receiving ACP benefits
- Benefit award letter
- Statement of benefits
- Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
- Current eligibility letter
- EBT card
- Medicaid
- Letter of eligibility
- Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC)
- Current eligibility letter
- Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
- Benefit verification letter
- Federal Public Housing Assistance (FPHA)
- Award letter
- Veterans Pension and Survivors Benefit
- VA Benefit Summary Letter
- Award letter
- Received a Federal Pell Grant in the current award year
- Official copy of Student Aid Report (SAR) from Federal Student Aid for the current award year
- Copy of a student’s paid invoice that clearly documents the student’s receipt of a Pell Grant during the current award year
- Free and Reduced-Price School Lunch Program or School Breakfast Program
- Current eligibility letter
