Job Title:   Executive Director

JOB SUMMARY:     As the Executive Director of the Carroll County Technology & Innovation Council (CTIC) you will provide the leadership needed to fulfill our mission of “Moving Carroll Forward.”

The Director will work to lead and execute three major pillars of the CTIC: Community Philanthropy, Education & Workforce Development, and Business & Community Support. Operationally, the focus will be on program development and execution, membership cultivation, strategic community partnerships, volunteer management, budgeting, and fundraising.

This is an ideal opportunity for an entrepreneurial leader with proven experience planning and executing successful programming. They should possess a passion for philanthropy, providing member value, and community building.

The Executive Director reports to the Board of Directors and is supported by a part-time Executive Assistant.


Develop and execute educational programming, including annual conferences and events
Attract new members and cultivate engagement within the existing membership
Manage a part-time assistant
Build lasting relationships with a broad spectrum of businesses, community partners, and donors
Raise funds to support the organization through membership, sponsorships, grant writing, and other philanthropic funding
Coordinate with regional and state Technology Councils to increase member value
Make regular and meaningful updates to the Board of Directors and leverage their expertise to meet the organization’s goals
Be responsible for budgets and spending, meeting all financial and legal requirements
Implement data collection and reporting to drive decision-making
Develop and document standard operational processes



Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
Independently motivated and able to work with minimal direction
Financial stewardship, budgeting, and reporting experience
A passion for community building and philanthropy
A keen interest in leveraging technology and innovation to make positive change
Strong communication skills, both oral and written
Strong organization skills and ability to multi-task
Collaborative, team player
Experience with or a strong comfort level with learning to use software like QuickBooks, electronic mailing platforms, and website content management systems (CMS)

Experience fundraising
Experience grant writing
Experience leading a membership organization
Volunteer management experience
Experience using social media and standard desktop applications (Word, Excel, etc.)
Marketing skills


Salary Range:  Competitive Salary
Bonus: Discretionary annual bonus tied to fundraising success
Retirement: SEP up to 4% matching contribution made by CTIC monthly, fully vested after one year
Health Care: Up to $400 per month Health Care insurance premium paid by CTIC
PTO: 15 days
Holidays: 8 Total – Thanksgiving, Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, Christmas Eve ½ day, New Years eve ½ day, Memorial Day, July 4, Labor Day, New Years Day
